What to bring? - Back to top
Village Manor encourages people to bring personal photos and wall-hangings to create a home-like atmosphere. Anything that can safely fit into the person’s living space can be brought. A favorite chair, rocker, or recliner is a good way to bring the comforts of home to a new space. If wanted, personal blankets or bedding can be used or Village Manor can provide them. Televisions can be brought, and satellite TV is available for hook-up at an additional charge. Extension cords and throw rugs are not allowed due to state regulations.
Village Manor suggests bringing enough clothing for five to seven days. Most residents are comfortable in long sleeves and sweaters due to air-conditioning. An iron-on labeling system for clothing and personal items is used; therefore, there is no need to mark cloths prior to admission. If new clothing is brought, please have laundry label it.
Laundry services are provided by Village Manor or families are welcome to do laundry. Please remember Village Manor uses commercial laundry facilities, which require higher temperatures than home machines.
Residents are welcome to bring their own toiletries if they want or Village Manor will be happy to provide them.
Messsge from the Departmant Manager
Hi, I am the Social Services Director, Debbie Davis. It is my responsibility to help make new residents adjust and feel right at home. I learn about their life experiences, which include their family, hobbies, interests, and occupation. I meet with the resident and/or their family to discuss any questions or concerns they might have. Taking time and answering questions, allows people to feel comfortable with their decision.
